30 Day Photo Challenge
I got my first camera as a Christmas present 3 years ago years, and I was instantly hooked. Since then I have purchased a few film cameras, another digital camera, and most recently a point and shoot camera. I know, I know, why would I need that many cameras? I lost sight of what it meant to shoot and focused more on gear. I challenged myself to put down the gear and focus more on shooting. This past month I choose to do a 30 day photo challenge where I shot with one camera and brought it everywhere with me. I chose to shoot with my Fuji X100s. At first I was kind of discouraged that I was taking just snapshots of my everyday life, but the more I shot, the more I saw great photo opportunities. Concluding this photo challenge, I am more than happy with the results. I have captured some of my favorite pictures that I have taken ever. After shooting this challenge, I realize that no matter the camera, whether it be a $3 point and shoot film camera or $5,000 DSLR that they are just tools in capturing the moments that are happening before you. I hope to shoot more challenges like this, so if you have any suggestions please let me know!
